Festival Location and Capacity

The festival is mostly an outdoor event and there is no space limitation. For an interactive festival map, click here.

 

What to Bring

Here is what we recommend you bring for the San Jose Jazz Summer Fest:
- Comfortable shoes

- Hat
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Blanket/low back chair for seating

- Camera (professional photographer or amateurs with a professional equipment will need a photo accreditation)

 

What Not to Bring

- Styrofoam cups, cans, and glass bottles
- Coolers
- Illegal substances
- Vending will not be allowed
- Professional photography equipment (professional photographer or amateurs with a professional equipment will need a photo accreditation)
- Pets (except service animals)
- Alcohol

 

What is Available

- Drinks (soda/beer/wine/water) to buy
- Food vendors (kinds of food: fast food, fruit, vegetables, rice, salads, soup, barbeque, deserts, sea food, candy, popcorn and much more…)
- Arts and crafts vendors- Festival T-Shirts, caps, posters and more to buy at the Jazz Store (check festival map for location)
- Safety/ medical assistance

 

Handicapped Access

We do not make special arangements for handicapped parking near the festival stages, but there are parking lots near each one and each stage is handicapped accessible and has handicapped parking. Our indoor stages, the Tech, San Jose Repertory Theater and the Theater on San Pedro Square all have elevators.

 

How to Buy Festival Admission

At the admission booths at every stage, during the Festival or online up to 2 days before the festival opens. Online purchase allows you to avoid lines at the Ticket Booth the day of the festival. Tickets purchased online must be available at Will Call.

 

Will Call

For those who purchased online: just walk up to the will call booth, show I.D., and pick up your wristband. Will Call is at the main information booth in front of the San Jose Museum of Art at 110 S. Market St, San Jose.

 

Will Call Onsite Hours

Friday, August 12: 5pm to 8pm
Saturday, August 13: 8am to 6pm
Sunday, August 14: 9am to 4pm.

 

Re-entry

The San Jose Jazz Summer Fest is held at a number of fenced sites. Festival visitors get a wristband at the entrance and they can use their wristbands to enter/re-enter any stage.

 

How to be a VIP at the Festival

VIP pass includes access to the VIP pavilion (food and refreshments), access to VIP reserved seating at the Main Stage, priority for access to the Bella Mia and the San Jose Rep stages. Check the tickets page for VIP info.

 

Location

The 10 stages are located within walking distance, in downtown San Jose. Check the festival map for festival info. Check the downtown map for downtown facilities.

Non-smoking Policy

The Festival is a non-smoking event. Please, exit the festival fences to smoke. You can exit and re-enter easily anytime.

 

Recycling/zero Waste Program

The festival recycles. Vendors use compostable cups, plates, silverware and containers. There are compost and recycling stations at each of the outdoor stages. Cans, bottles and cardboards will be collected by the San Jose Conservation Corps and recycled. Please help us recycle our waste.

 

Overnight Policy

Please, do not leave your blankets and chairs at any stage overnight, they will be removed. This allows all attendees to have equal access to performances each day.

 

Entrance and Admission Booth Opening/Closing Times

Each day, all the stages open one hour before the first concert starts, and close when the last performance ends. Check the festival schedule for performances times. Only the Main Stage gate at the Paseo de San Antonio opens earlier: at 4pm on Friday; at 8am on Saturday and Sunday.

 

Security/Safety

There will be emergency medical personnel and security personnel onsite around the festival. If you need emergency medical or police attention, please contact one of our staff personnel or go to the information booth. Look at the festival map for locations of stages, booths, info pavilions, gates.

 

Stages

There are 9 different stages: Main Stage, Blues Stage, San Jose Rep Stage, Bella Mia Stage, Latin Stage, Salsa Stage, Jazz Beyond Stage, Swing Stage, Nex Gen Stage, 48-Hour Jazz Stage, and a club crawl which includes15 bars and restaurants. Admission to the festival gives you access to all the performances. Children 12 and under are free. Locate the stages here.

Traffic/Street Closure

The following streets will be closed because of the festival:
On Thursday August 12 starting at 10am: Market Street, south bound, between San Fernando and San Carlos.

On Friday August 13 (starting at 6pm) through Sunday August 15:
- Post St, between Market and First St
- San Fernando, between Almaden Blvd and Market
- San Fernando, between Guadalupe Parkway and Almaden Blvd
- Market Street, south bound, between San Fernando and San Carlos (closing on Thursday August 6).
- First Street between San Carlos and San Salvador on Friday from 4pm to midnight.
